BlockBeats News, March 21, according to Bloomberg, citing people familiar with the matter, the startup company Halter, which is developing an AI-powered smart cattle collar, is in talks for a new round of financing that is expected to double its valuation to over $20 billion.

The sources said billionaire Peter Thiel's venture capital firm Founders Fund will lead this round of financing. Because the discussions involve undisclosed information, these sources requested anonymity. Currently, the negotiations are still ongoing, and specific details may change.

Halter's technology aims to create a "virtual fence" for herds and enable farmers to monitor livestock's location and health indicators in real time through an application. Its solar-powered smart collar can connect to the farmer's phone, allowing remote ranch management — for example, ranchers can drive or guide the herd using vibrations and sound signals emitted by the collar.

One of the sources stated that prior to the new financing, Halter's valuation had already reached around $20 billion. The size of this round of financing is yet to be determined as there is significant investor interest, leading to an "oversubscribed" deal. Halter did not respond to requests for comment, and Founders Fund also declined to comment.
